Hi! Almost finished with my n64, and I've got noise in my screen. Did a few test and I can confirm it comes from noisy power input. As soon as I power the screen from another power source, or from the batteries while powering the n64 from the wall, noise is gone.

I'm running the package from 7.4v, I was thinking of getting a second regulator like an MP1584 to get 5v and cleaner power for the screen. Any idea?

That regulator should supply plenty of current, if you're planning on supplying 5V to the screen you will need to modify it as shown in this thread:
 
I had some noise problems wiring PS2 to a LCD which I eliminated by having a ground wire twisted around the signal wires. I'm using enamel copper wire btw. I tried to use some shielded wires from a vga cable and that didn't solve the problem either. Only wrapping ground very close to the signal wires was the noise gone. For me, I had some scan lines going diagonally.

GIve that a try.
