I use IDE for everything except higher voltage power lines, audio, and video.

What would you recommend for those situations? Audio video and power (I'm thinking of ~14.4v )
For power, I would use around 24 gauge or thicker (lower number = thicker).
For audio and video, the thickness is not as much of an issue. For those, you'd want some kind of shielded wire, which looks like this:
You want this because this will decrease interference.
