Question Wii family edition question

I'm wondering if a wii family edition without the gamecube stuff would do for portablizing as normal, or would it require extra modifications?

Family Edition Wiis are all 4 layer boards and are indeed suitable for portablising. The only *downside* is that they lack Gamecube controller ports, but the pins for the ports are still on the board and are fully functional. You can just wire a controller in and have the same functionality
