So my 2019 entry will be a Virtual Boy inside a gamegear shell.
This will be the first handheld Virtual Boy ever made.
It will feature a 3.5" vga screen
Vga out
Link Port
Rechargable
Button for changing game colors
All packed inside a gamegear shell
With a custom display stand and custom glass screen.
(Temp photo to give basic idea of portable layout)

I can't wait to see this when its done!
Wario Land will get a true portable to be played on with original hardware!

Hold up, a button for changing game colors? Will this be a raspberry pi build or an actual VB?

I saw something about this a while ago on discord. IIRC there's a custom solution for getting VGA out of a VB, probably what HB is doing since he mentions using a VGA screen. This solution probably allows for customising the backing colour through software. I may be wrong, it's a very vague recollection, but I can't see any other possibility.

Stitches is indeed correct. This is all OG hardware with the exception of a few custom boards which one of those is the Virtual tap which allows VGA out of a virtual boy.
But the Virtual Tap also allows displaying different colors rather than just red. So i can do just blue or even just purple.
It's pretty nice.
Sadly due to an Eviction Notice. I cannot finish this project in time for the contest.
