Question The Wii Classic Controller

I wanna use the L and R sliders from an classic controller. But now i thought, that i can use the whole controller as internal controller. Can i just connect the data pin from the classic controller to an data pin from gc? or is there some kind of adapter needed? Is there also a pinout from the wii classic controller chip so i can trimm it down? i couldnt find one.

(im talking about the classic controller not classic controller pro)

Are you referring to using a classic controller connected to a GC controller data line? That wouldn't work because they have different data protocols.
