Feels like it's been for forever since being able to make a post here about a completed project, but this is kind of a big one for me! It's been well over a decade since the last time I gave this concept a serious try and failed horribly. But with the new techniques and smart people like @Gman and @Aurelio willing to help out, it's finally come together!

It's been almost 3 years since I started working on a new design for a portable N64, which started as my first new commission from a nearly 4 year hiatus. And as requests continued and the design was refined after each version, it got to the point where this idea of a kit similar to GMAN's "G-Boy Kit" a few years earlier, was looking more and more like a reasonable possibility!

But it couldn't stop just at having all the parts and pieces to build it in one place, no. I wanted this to be the kit that I could have only dreamed of back when I started modding, which was going to mean there had to be the most hand-holding step-by-step guide to go with it, which is well into production and will be so graciously hosted here on the Bit Built Manuals site when the kits are ready!

I know a few of you have probably seen my recent X posts and have probably seen some of the hell that this current world situation has caused this project right at the tail end of everything being ready to go. But I can't drag my feet with this anymore and keep waiting for a better time, because this thing will never get done.

So I started a Kickstarter that's going to be live on July 15th and I'll post the link below to the Pre-Launch site if you're interested. But frankly the only reason why I'm even attempting a KS campaign is so I can buy some of the higher ticket items in bulk to get the price per kit down, because holy shit did things get expensive quick!

I mean, there's no getting around that this hobby has always been expensive but it's just getting scary now. But, I didn't want to put out a crap product and the ease and reliability this provides is a value I think most will appreciate, especially for those of us who fully understand the trials this hobby can put you through. The full details will be released with the Kickstarter next week, but I just wanted to make a thread here to get your thoughts or for if you had any questions! I'll be posting more about this as the live date draws near, but for now, here's the link to the KS Pre-Launch!

I again need to thank @Gman and @Aurelio for their help with the PCBs and modules, as this concept is what finally was able to bring this kit into reality! Their knowledge is incredible and has been such an anchor point to this community that I feel we'd be adrift without them!

Also thanks to @CrashBash and @cheese for letting me host this massive guide here on BB! Very much appreciated as this guide is going to be where some of the true value of this kit will be found! Thanks again!

Hope you enjoy!

Génial ! Votre kit pourra-t-il être expédié vers la France ?
