sooo... I've wanted to start building a portable for a while now,
but i dont know where to start. I only have expirience in modding, and i want to build a portable wii, but it's something i want to build up to.
I can start with a raspberry pi, i think it would be "easier". But the portable wii is my dream.
So, any suggestions ?
post scriptum: i dont want it to be too expensive ;)

update: i've thought about it, and i don't think i will be able to buy the xiiboy ultra kit, it sounds really cool, but i can't afford it with my 13-year old money, i could try it when i'm older though, but it seems that i will start with a pi portable.

Well,if you want to use raspberry pi,you could use retroflag, they are doing great case for a retro look, but if you really want to make a wii portable, you should wait for @Xenii 's Xii boy kit,it will probably be available soon.
Hope you got answers to your question :)

by case, do you mean the exterior ?
Because i do know someone with a 3d printer, so if meant that, it should be no problem

i've read te entire xii worklog, it's really cool ! I'll probably try it.

ah, i see, it might be better to buy a case from them then. I hope the xiiboy kits release soon !
I can personally say to look forward to the kits coming very soon. Select testers already have beta versions of the kits and are building + testing them so we can find any changes to make to the final version that will be sold.

It will costs around 250$ at last news, but this Price could change and keep in mind that you will need to buy the 4layertech's electronics which are not incluse due to the costs of the flexes pcbs.

We don't know for certain yet, but our goal has always been to keep the price around CHF 200 (or $250 USD) but the shipping price may be high depending on where you buy from, and what service we end up using for shipping. This does not include things like a Wii, 4LayerTech PCBs, batteries, MicroSD card, tools etc.

That's not entirely correct. The reason we can't include 4LayerTech PCBs is mainly the situation with customs and shipping from 4LayerTech.
It would add a lot of extra price to the kit as well, which means we wouldn't be able to make many without pre-orders because of the large price we'd have to pay in advance for the 4LayerTech boards.
