I'd also look at getting a better soldering iron, by the looks of your joints the one you have isn't quite good enough. Yeah, it's gonna be a "no don't do that" from me. Better for the new people to stick to reputable stores like Digikey/Mouser/RS-Online until they learn how to discern real listings from fakes.
