A wire came out of a via on my wii, but some of the excess solder stayed in the via. I tried solder braid and a solder sucker, but the solder is still in there. So does anyone know how I can get it out? image.webp

When you've got something like this it can be beneficial to flux the surface of the board as well as the solder braid before heating it. You may need to put a bit of pressure on it to ensure it makes proper contact with the via. Even then it can be difficult to get the solder out depending on your flux, iron, braid, etc.

If you can't get the solder out, your best bet is gonna be just to add a bit of solder to the vias and solder to them like they're tiny pads. This leaves results that aren't as solid as the through-hole method, but should be fine so long as you don't have any cold joints. This would be less risky too since you won't risk damaging the via.

I tried soldering a wire to the outside of the via, but the solder isn’t adhering to the via and instead it’s adhering to the tip of my iron. Is there any way I can stop that from happening?

It sounds like you might have too much solder on your iron. It also sounds like you might not have enough flux on the board. What brand of flux are you using? Also, what temperature are you soldering at? Your iron's temp also plays an important role depending on what technique you're using to tin the vias.

Nice work! Glad I was able to help! Good luck with the rest of your project!
