So I want to try to connect a custom ribbon cable to the ds lite screen connector, but I cannot find any definite info on what it actually is. How would I make a cable that connects to It? Thanks.
What is your goal, or what is it that you would like to accomplish with your custom ribbon cable? I would be better able to offer assistance with more details.
Here are some links and information that might help get you started.
The DS Lite has two different screen connector sizes. The bottom LCD uses a 39-pin connector and the top screen uses a 45-pin connector.
^^^ gbatek is a very impressive resource offering comprehensive technical information on the GBA, DS/DSi, and 3DS. It has been curated over the years by the talented Martin Korth.
Here is an example of a 39-pin FPC connector that also includes a link to a datasheet: 39-pin FPC Connector Example
If you search 39-pin FPC connector on google it will pull up connectors and extenders. I have only used OEM connectors so I am unable to comment on the quality of 3rd party manufacturers.

Dude, thanks for the links! I'm trying to do a ds lite xl mod, and found that the dsi xl screens can be used on the lite. Problem is that I need custom extender cables as I'm using two bottom dsi xl screens, and they have very short ribbon cables. If I can figure out the specs needed, I can make a custom one in kicad.
