Solved Donkey Kong Country Returns not compatible?

I'm preparing to trim a 6 layer Wii. In testing games on the untrimmed board, I tried a number of GC and Wii games. The ONLY game that refused to load was DK Country on the Wii.
It gets to the screen where it asks you to press A & B to continue. I get a black screen followed by a reboot to the main RVLoader game menu. Tried this on 2 different Wiis with the same result and with 5 different dumps of the game. The game works fine with USB Loader and Dolphin, so, it has to be something with RVLoader. Thoughts?

this is a classic and known issue. For some games like this one, you need to press B on the RVLoader menu and set an option called approximatively “PAD read mode“ or something to “Bypass”

sorry I don’t remember what’s it’s called, but it should correct the issue

I would not have found that setting in a million years!! I must have missed the meaning of all those settings when I was reading about the loader. Is there more documentation somewhere? (setting up themes, etc)
