My goals for the SWiiP will be to make a comfortable, functional, and rugged portable with great cable management.
This will be my first completed Wii portable (besides the G-Boy). It's inspired by many other portables, including designs I thought of in the past. Started in May, I've already made a lot of progress on the 3d design, therefore I'm confident this will be finished before the deadline.

Got the copper plates for cooling in today, I now have everything I need! Starting a test print and hopefully I can use it to start assembling!

Everything fits pretty good, the corners on the back peeled up some on the sides, so I’ll need to re print with a brim. However I’m gonna print the front out and make sure everything else fits correctly

Mostly everything seems to fit, the snap shut case idea I had works well enough. I like this textured look

Haha I suppose top color it is Currently test printing abxy and dpad housings to get the best feeling one, the internals are fully complete besides this.

Clips shut with everything inside! Took the three done tacts off a Wii remote for the 3 buttons at the bottom. Added a lil slot to put the Wii mote rumble motor in. Trimmed a slice of copper for the heatsink, now I need to trim the aluminum fins. I may trim a new motherboard with the omgwtf trim because an lmao really isn’t necessary. I need to order the ABXY and DPAD contact pads from the discontinued bitbuilt items forum. Check da wii strap

Don't worry, I haven't abandoned this project yet haha. I've been steadily working on it over the past few weeks and have tried to reduce the amount of filament required and make it more simplistic. I have changed the trigger design to resemble that of the original 2DS, feels much better! Made a lil hole next to the power jack to indicate charging. Also am working on making some parts snap-fit so it won't use as many screws

Outside of CAD, I ordered the BitBuilt discontinued ABXY and DPAD contact pads (gold plated :3) and have ordered a broken Wii to make a very nice and form-fitted mobo trim. I want this to be easy to make, kinda like the G-wii, so I'll make sure its compatible with the standard wii trim

Changed alot of stuff lol, basically started over fit 2 more 18650s in here, made a new and even better trigger system, made it 4mm wider to make more room for the PDCharger. Decided for the final print: I'll most likely print it in this galaxy black pla, sand it, and spray paint a glossy coat! here's some of the cad pictures to show the changes

I’m still hard at work on this when I have the time, right now I’m sanding, spraying, sanding, spraying constantly to get a very very clean matte look. I hope to post some pictures of the housing tomorrow!

Small update, no pictures I was assembling the portable and realized the OMGWTF trim wouldn’t fit with the position it was in. I don’t want to have to use an lmao trim since it doesn’t need it. I just printed out another bottom half and will soon spot putty it and repaint it. I really hope I can finish this before the contest and I’m gonna try my best!

I started working on this portable again after finding it in my closet. Been designing custom PCBS, heavy Fusion work, and more determination!
