Try disconnecting the 5v to the USB just to rule that out. Nothing else that you've done is likely to impact the console booting.

Best way to think about these things is: 1 x D battery = 1.5v (Full charge) 6 x D battery = 9v (Full charge) 1 x D battery = 1v-ish (Low charge/flat) 6 x D battery = 6v-ish (Low charge/flat) So a 7.4v lithium setup should be well within operating voltages.

It'll likely work just fine from 6ish volt to possibly even 12v. You should be able to find a 7v lithium setup without much issue.

I modified the model so I could FDM print it without supports. Fitment is about 97% perfect although it seems the clips are a little fidgety, not sure what part is off but there does still seem to be room for very slight improvements. It could also be an issue with tolerances in the print itself.

Updated original file, found that a few measurements were off by about 0.5mm to 1mm in certain areas.
