    Question Trimmed wii won't boot

I ordered a new wii and will be following the guide to the T for my next board, in the mean time I'd like to try resurrecting this board if possible. I did notice on the bottom side of the board I had cut rather close to the outer trace (red) coming of the AV chip so I scratch soldered a...

So I got my trimmed wii all wired up and nothing.. no picture to the screen. Question MX Chip

    Question MX Chip

Can you remove the mx chip completely and solder to its pins or do you have to leave the surrounding components within the red box for it to function correctly? (as seen on the trim guide) http://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/the-definitive-wii-trimming-guide.198/#post-1492

    Wii NAND

What specifically in bootmii does it say backup NAND or something similar to that?
  14. Nick

    Wii NAND

Well that sucks. For future, how do I backup the NAND?
  15. Nick

    Wii NAND

oh I thought you meant a backup NAND chip, doesn't portablize mii save that to the usb drive/Sd card?
  16. Nick

    Wii NAND

Unfortunately not. I was trying to relocate the "backup" one and bent it over to much and of course snapped some of the pins that I needed.. :( I plan to just wire with magnetic wire to the board if I get another backup, besides power and ground I'll use thicker gauge for that.

    Wii NAND

If anyone has a wii NAND chip that they aren't using and would like to send my way I would appreciate it. Broke mine so in the mean time I started working on another board I had laying around to keep me busy, but would like to continue with that board as well if possible.

    The Wiiboy rev2

So you just ran a wire from SDN and soldered it to part of a wire coming off the 5v on the amp?
  20. Nick

    The Wiiboy rev2

I know the SDN solder pad on the audio amp is used to turn the amp off, which allows you to save battery life when not in use, but how/what did you hook it up to?
