    U10 Relocation Question

You are correct about the location. It's also true that trimming the board will also cut the trace, however it's highly recommended to test your U10 relocation before you trim the board.

Did I Over trim the Motherboard?

Additionally, remove any components that are cut in half from the trim by the edge.

Fan Not Turning On (Step 7)

Here's a thought - is it possible there is a firmware incompatibility? Here's what we know: - The i2c connection causes the RVL-PMS to not power on - There are no shorts on either board - i2c works on the PMS - The USBC board (seems to) work I'm beginning to suspect that the i2c communication...

Discussion Wii BT Module Data Line Adapter

I don't think a wire would make good enough contact to give a reliable connection. Looking at my Wii right now, I really don't think you would be able to, as you said, get anything to a ball not on the front row.

    Question No video output

Also I know you checked u10 for continuity but have you verified that the output voltage is 3.3 volts when powered on?

    Question No video output

Trim looks fine. The voltage rails are probably too low. If the voltage drop only occurs when connected to the Wii, it's probably the power supply you're using to power the regulators.

Is it possible that VSYS is shorted to ground on the USBC board?

    Worklog Wii Portable #2

After @mokus confirmed that the WiirdFlex connector can handle the sustained current draw of the Wii, I pulled the trigger on the two boards. Ordered the BOM as well. This is my first time actually ordering from JLC, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. I went ahead and added...

    Discussion Announcing Hiidra

One example is WiiHUD, which enables features such as your PMS being able to tell the Wii the current battery percentage, and have the Wii draw the battery percentage on the screen. It essentially gives the ability for the Wii to communicate with programmable external hardware.

    Multi-Purpose wire for G-Boy wiring?

There's no getting around the fact that you will need multiple types of wire. The guide suggests this for a reason. I mean, a spool of wire is like $5. Pretty insignificant big-picture-wise. You must have 22 AWG wire for the power rails. Thinner wire won't carry enough current. You don't want...

Discussion Wii Power Management System (open source)

No, you'd have to write a custom firmware to support using a switch instead of a button. As for your second question, that is correct.

Discussion Wii Power Management System (open source)

If you're wanting to build your own PMS board, you'll want to download the actual parts BOM from the GitHub repo . Additionally, you won't be able to find these parts on eBay. You'll want to order from somewhere like Digikey or Mouser. Lastly, assembling these boards is no easy feat; a hot air...

Worklog Can someone help check my work

I think most of us when we were first starting experienced something similar to what you went through. It can be really tempting to give up when everything starts going wrong, especially close to the eclipse of the project. You may not be proud of every aspect of your portable, but you finished...

    Worklog Wii Portable #2

Name TBA. This portable is a collaboration @mokus which I believe will be the most ambitious and integrated portable yet. The idea is simple - design a compact portable with no wires. The execution, well, that's another story. Over the last few months, I've assembled many various designs, all of...
