It's been a while for me as well but I am 99% sure that 12V is too much. I feel like I remember reading that 8.5v was the absolute max... meaning that even with two fully charged lipos, it felt too close for comfort, for me :P
I know the feel of sinking hours into a psone LED mod. I think a...
^^That's how I wire mine, however, I have been told in the past (https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/how-to-wire-a-stereo-headphone-jack.978/) that if you do it in this fashion by routing the same amp output that is designed for speakers, to headphones, you run the risk of blowing out...
You guys know that feel, when you're worried that something won't turn out perfect and so it discourages you from completing it?
:(
My woes are the same as they have been for some time... trying to fit that 4.3" screen into the upper half of a standard 3ds without it looking like crap and with...
I'm not incredibly concerned about power because the screen doesn't take that much and neither does the pi.
Stay away from the pi3 unless you really need it; in my opinion the upped processing speed and whatever it's costing to always have wifi on doesn't even come close to warranting the...
Can't remember the last gamecube portable that didn't have a wiikey/wasp :P

He didn't specify but yeah, he's trying to make a portable sooooo he doesn't...
Meh, I kinda see where you're coming from with the coolness factor of keeping the disc drive; it's the same reason I refuse to make an n64 portable with a flash cart... despite the fact that it would be sleeker and I wouldn't have to carry the games around. Feels more authentic!
I wouldn't...
You don't need to "make a custom board", you just need to get the regs and wire them properly. Explanation.
Obviously you're going to want some sort of power switch on your portable, and no it doesn't HAVE to the same switch that's on the gamecube already.
Please do as much of your own...
What makes you think he has to open the wii for that?
The wires are literally just hanging loose right there, all he has to do is snip them and attach the new holder.
Sure haha
I put on a fresh coat of paint and added some more pics^^
Kinda splattered it a little to go for a textured effect... we'll see if I keep it though.
Yeah seriously, maybe you are blissfully unaware, but li ions aren't safe things and it's nonsensical to forego the protection circuit.
If you're skeptical on what the minimum safe discharge for one is, that question doesn't necessarily need to be posted on bitbuilt because a simple google...
As stated in your worklog, over-discharging batteries will significantly lower the lifespan of the cells, if not kill them outright. Over-discharge protection is one of the functions of the pcb. Everyone keeps telling you to get a pcb. You make the call.
Thanks for all the advice. Don't worry, I'm gaining motivation to get this done, and I'll find a solution for the hinges one way or the other.
I spent a lot of time going back and doing more sanding/painting yesterday, and there are still a few flaws but I think at this point I'm ready to move...
I don't know what charger / protection circuit you have, but yeah, each 3.7v cell will be around 4.2v around max charge and 3.2v around min charge, so it makes sense that a 14.8v pack at max charge would actually be around 16.8v.
(Always keep this property of lipos/li ions in mind so you don't...
