Okay, I got a 4mb ram thing off a parts n64 ( it was cheaper than an expansion pack ) and I have started replacing the 2mb chips and four contacts went with them... this starting to become a habit...

I'm afraid you're not going to be able to fix this motherboard. The RAM traces here are very sensitive, and any bodge wires would have to go under the chip on a bus where trace length and thickness is very sensitive due to tolerances and other variables. I don't think this is very recoverable without transplanting everything to a new motherboard like I did with this motherboard recreation project.

How did you remove this RAM chip? Whenever I remove something like this, I use hot air and I try to distribute the heat across the legs evenly. I don't make any attempt to pull the chip off the board until it's thoroughly heated, and it ends up taking little to no pressure to lift it off. I also like removing the nearby screw post mounts since those act as little heat sinks making removal even harder.

I'd be willing to buy this board off you for parts. Send me a DM if you want and we can negotiate that if you're interested.

:(((((

I have to admit my way of removing the ram chip was not very great. I put a blob of solder on the legs of the chip, got a box cutter and ***gently*** lifted the chip from where it was.

as for your offer to buy this board I think I might use it for parts, though I do have the other board I got the 4mb chip off of if you are interested!
