Hi guys! I just bought an SNES jr to make into a handheld for dirt cheap and will be posting the worklog here. The eagle eyed may think "Isn't this your fourth 'first' portable?" I can assure you guys this one will actually come to fruition. I've gathered some parts from my past 3 blunders and am very confident this time.

I am still deciding on if I should make it DMG style like this pic or GBA style...

Parts are out for delivery, heading home from uni in a few hours to get started! Going to make it DMG style so I can essentially use the controller board unmodified. Will be putting control ports and retaining the multi out so I can dock to a TV when I feel like it. Think James Channel meets a 3D printer (duct tape begone!)

Huge thanks to @Bubberiffic for the guidance so far!

Edit: Which name do you guys prefer? The SNESpresso? Or the SNExpress?

Progress update: Not much progress was made yesterday as I was mostly just figuring out what to do first. However, friday night I will pick it up again.

Edit: Also doing some tonight, found the time

Possibly fried the Jr. Putting this on hold (sorta) until the Jr is hopefully resurrected.

HOWEVER...
We will be making one the James Channel way using a normal snes.

Thread revival time!

New updates:
The first Jr. is dead, partially due to the voltage regulator removal ending in a solder pad being ripped off and not noticing, but mostly due to a shoddy BMS board...

However, I have another that I have been tinkering with a bit. Will be doing a lot of work on it this weekend in baby steps.

Exciting news! Got the audio circuit all set up (minus the two speakers, but headphone jack is added), and everything works so far! Never been happier to hear the SMW opening theme!
