Worklog [FINISHED] Ps2P DONE

boots, all controls work correctly. The portable part of ps2*P* is very subjective but I'm a big guy so it's ok for me.
2p2s setup with 21700 batteries. charges with type c, has speakers XOR sends sound into 3.5mm jack.
screen is from a car rear view mod from temu. ps2 motherboard is a 79001 which is UNCUT (hence the relative gigantic size).
12v to screen, 8.5v to ps2 (despite it not having the disc drive, didnt want to risk anything with the ps2 mb), 5v to audio booster.
controls were made using soft buttons being wire soldered to a bootleg ps2 controller motherboard that had exposed terminals FOR soldering wire to it.

Neat project! Gives me Wii-U Gamepad vibes. There aren't many portables with untrimmed motherboards out there, so seeing something that doesn't require permanently modifying a motherboard is super neat!

What sort of battery life does it have? How many 21700s did you put in it? How big is the screen? I'm curious to get a sense of scale and weight.

yeah the ps2 has sentimental value, so that was one of the hard rules I had with this project: NO permanent modifications to the motherboard at all. I even kept the og body.
as for battery life, not really sure, haven't played that much just yet, by my calcs it SHOULD be like 3 hours, 4 at best.
4 21700 LI-ON 3.7V 5000mAh-s, 2P2S config, soldered some nickel strips on them and iso-taped it.
screen itself is, hold on i'll check my blender template models, 16.38 cm x 9.9 cm (6.45 inches x 3.90 inches)


and overall the shell is 33cm x 22cm (13 inches x 8.66 inches)

weight is... oh boy, 1.5kgs (3.31 pounds), most of the weight is from the bats + ps2 motherboard
