Greetings and Salutations BitBuilt Community,

I am not sure if this is already a thing, but recently, in replacing a Wii's failing NAND, I designed AlmostFrii, a Pi Pico flash programmer (1:1 imaging) and dumper for the Wii-supported NAND chips, with SHA256 block verification.

This theoretically supports all supported chips, but was only tested in a successful NAND replacement the 512Mbyte Hynix HY27UF084G2B. Of course, usage of this method requires the removal and replacement of the original NAND via soldering, and a 1:1 encrypted NAND backup i.e. BootMii nand.bin.

Full NAND Dump Time: ~20 minutes
Full NAND Write Time: ~1.5 hours

It is my hope that this project might give life to old consoles...without spending $100+ on an actual flash programmer.

Release v1.0
Source and README

Thank you

Is Pin 6 on the NAND supposed to be connected to anything?
No. That pin is used for the second bank on a dual-bank NAND, but the Wii uses a single bank chip. The only time I could think of where you would use that pin on a console NAND is to reflash the Wii U SLC.
