Would it still be considered a portable wii if it were just a whole wii motherboard?

is it still considered a portable if I kept the whole motherboard intact? yeah, it would be massive, but it wouldn’t required to relocate a whole lot (maybe nothing) and would it technically be easier to build. I guess its no different than just bringing a wii, a screen and a portable power bank everywhere, but still

I mean, some of the Aliexpress portables hardly trim the mobo (iirc some don't at all), so it's doable.

My first Gamecube portable attempts used untrimmed mobos in a polycarb box, so I don't see why an untrimmed wii should be any different

Hello, friend. The wii handset can be manufactured without trimming the pcb. The minimum starting voltage of the wii is about 10v,
Usually you can use three 18650 batteries as the energy source, but the original power supply system consumes a lot of power and is difficult to maintain a long times.

you don’t even need to open the Wii unless you need to solder something like an extender power button or installing a modchip, If you are making something like a suitcase Wii or something

I've always found the idea of not trimming a motherboard for a Wii to be interesting. Having a fully reversible and easier to build portable seems like a neat concept.
As CrazyGadget was saying, there is an aliexpress Wii portable that comes close to being untrimmed and here's what the internals of that look like:

This shouldn't be used as a guideline by any means seeing how they run the cells directly to the motherboard, but it does show what an untrimmed Wii portable would look like. You'd end up with a Wii laptop or something massive like this. I think this concept is better suited for a console that has a smaller motherboard, but an untrimmed Wii laptop might be kinda neat.

There was a guy on YouTube who made N64 laptops with (I believe) untrimmed motherboards, so a Wii version is definitely both realistic and awesome.

honestly though i like the idea of laptop portables but i prefer my things to be small enough to sneak into my lunch period. it would be really obvious to carry around a janky laptop like that tha it wasn’t the schoosl
