Actually if I'm using the stock regs could I just connect my screen to the Wii's 12V reg or does that not supply enough power?

I don't know if drawing extra power straight from the 12v line would interfere with the system, but you'd probably be better off using the 5v rail

You should install RVLoader even if you won't trim the board.You have easier accesses to starting the games since you wont need the sensorbar. Also you can use vga with it what makes the image way cleaner and sharper.
