I'm at the end of myself right now.
I'm on my third gamecube controller right now, and soldering is being a pain in the ass.
What technique can I use to get my wires to stick to the gamecube buttons? I'm trying everything and they won't stick, and when I do get them to finally connect, I get no input!

Just solder to the IC legs. You'll save yourself a lot of time that way.

You can then just use squishy tacts for the buttons themselves.

That's what I've been doing, I can get that to stick somewhat easier, my problem is that it wont stick to the copper on the controller to the buttons.

I think I'm misunderstanding what you mean. Pictures of the wiring should help clarify.

I know the pinout, I know the locations, and I know the inputs. But I can't get the solder to stick to copper. I don't think it matters anymore because my controller likes to think that it can go left and down by itself.

They are. When I plug them in the wii it shuts off.

Not sure if you can tell, but there are two boards with the pins melted. I was a little dumb and used to much solder.
