I'm at the end of myself right now.
I'm on my third gamecube controller right now, and soldering is being a pain in the ass.
What technique can I use to get my wires to stick to the gamecube buttons? I'm trying everything and they won't stick, and when I do get them to finally connect, I get no input!

Just solder to the IC legs. You'll save yourself a lot of time that way.

IC Legs? Screenshot pls?

Are you using an official controller? Those have a little Nintendo chip in the center

I have the smash controller. But they're pretty much the same.

Sure, if you want one that's broken lol

I didn't even see you replied lol.
That's what I've been doing, I can get that to stick somewhat easier, my problem is that it wont stick to the copper on the controller to the buttons.
I think I'm misunderstanding what you mean. Pictures of the wiring should help clarify.

I know the pinout, I know the locations, and I know the inputs. But I can't get the solder to stick to copper. I don't think it matters anymore because my controller likes to think that it can go left and down by itself.

You cut it way to small dude. What about the others... You still have those?

The others chips are fried. So I fucked up?

Is there any way I can use this one? Any way? I litterally just picked it up today and it was $30.

Maybe we can spot the issue if you make a clear picture of the boards ;)
