Hello everyone!

I'm super new to modding the Nintendo 64, so forgive me if the answer is very obvious.

I'm hoping to install a non-intrusive usb-c port to my console to add the option to use a usb-c cable for power. I still want the option to use the original power supply (if I were to ever want to). My Nintendo 64 has a revision 8 board (from what I can tell it doesn't matter too much, but I thought I'd mention it, just in case there is something I need to be aware of). My question is what is the best method to go about doing this? Could I wire a 3v3 line and a 5v line into the board as outlined in the N64 trim guide or would I run into problems? Would I instead have to step-up the voltage to 12V and wire it to the built-in power input?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think it would be nice to be able to use a 5V 2A plug, but I'm not sure how realistic that would be, or if I would run into under powering issues. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!
