Hello Everyone!

i have recently bought a defective Nintendo Switch Lite from an Online Marketplace. The owner told me that the screen goes black after immediately after the Nintendo Logo appears.

I have tried some things on the internet like holding the Power Button for 30 seconds or checking for the Battery Symbol at the top left corner.
No method worked and the screen shows absolutely nothing.

According to some sources, this might be due to a bad battery and changing it would solve the problem. Is this true?
If not, what can i try to do in order to fix it?
I bought the Switch to experiment with it and mess around so feel free to suggest risky solutions as long as they work and aren't for the sake of trolling.

Thanks! I will update you lot if i manage to fix it!

Sounds like a corrupt NAND to me. Hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power when booting up and tell me if it gets to recovery mode. If not, you might have to install a Picofly modchip and rebuild the NAND in order to fix the console. I highly doubt it’s a bad battery, but it is technically possible.

I tried booting recovery mode but unfortunately it did not work. In that case the Modchip is the way to go?

Yeah, that's unfortunate. I figured it wouldn't boot, but always worth a try. You are welcome to research further, but based on my experience I would still say it's likely a NAND/Firmware issue. Mod the console with a picofly lite, and if it loads into the hekate menu, that confirms it. From there, you can live on an EmuMMC, or you can repair the SysMMC following these guides:

Move up from level one to level three depending on if it works or not. Please let me know if you're able to get the console running again!

Hello my friend!

it's been a minute, but i have finally purchased a Picofly Modchip. I actually installed it myself an hour ago.
I have some soldering experience but not with something this small, so it was a challenge.
However, it runs again! I haven't done the unbrick method you sent me yet, but i plan on doing that in the near future.
Thanks a lot for your help! I will keep you up to date.

Sincerely

Very nice work! I'm glad you got it booting! One thing of note is that pink sticker by the charge port. That's a liquid damage indicator, and solid pink means it has been activated. Was it like that when you opened it up? If so, there may be corrosion beneath the NAND, and software won't be able to fix it. An EmuNAND (off the MicroSD card) should still work though.

I didn't pay attention to it when I opened it at first but I assume that this is the previous owner's doing since the back cover didn't have any screws on it so they must have opened it themselves for whatever reason. Unless isopropyl alcohol can cause this damage and I somehow did ruin my switch
Either way, I can't thank you enough for leading me to the modchip. This thing runs now and that's what matters most
