Question needs help wiring U-AMP with analog volume wheel

i'm gonna use open source U-AMP board with 3 pin analog volume wheel(i guess 3pin is mono volume wheel) for wii portable.
is this wiring diagram correct?

or should i wire like this
1 to u-amp board + pad
3 to u-amp board - pad
2 to gnd

The uamp 2 on 4layertech.com is compatible with an analog wheel. Unless you’ve built an adjusted firmware the first uamp was meant to be used with tactile switches
