Title is as it states, I can't get the Mii Channel to open at all. Trying to open it from the Wii menu gives a black screen with the very uninformative "An error has occurred. Press the eject button, remove the game disk, and turn off the power to the console. Please read the Wii operations manual for further instructions."
I sourced this Wii from a friend who had informed me they weren't able to get any disks working on it. No issue, I needed a board to make my first portable with and I won't need the disk drive anyways as RVLoader will bypass it. After some testing, I noted that the Mii Channel threw the error and the WiFi chip is non-functional as well. Not sure if that's needed to note, but I'm including it anyways. I did disassemble the Wii to reseat everything just to be sure it wasn't an issue with something coming loose, but it didn't fix anything.
I updated the system to 4.3 and went on to install Homebrew using letterbomb and followed the directions to install RVLoader. Everything went smoothly. I am able to run Wii and Gamecube games, as well as WiiWare WADs with no issues through RVLoader. My only issue is that I'm still getting the same error for the Mii Channel. I was not able to use Miis stored in the Wii remote from another console inside games either. I would like to be able to use Miis as some games do require them.
Is there any way I can fix the Mii Channel or another way I can access Mii files within games booted from RVLoader? I'm okay going forward and just not loading games that require Miis, but if it is fixable I would like to try to do so.
I have included a sysCheck that was done in case that helps find the issue.
Edit: Would a NAND backup from a functioning Wii solve this? Have been sitting here thinking since making the post, I do have a fully functioning Wii I use regularly that I could make a backup of, though I'm not sure whether or not that would solve the issue.
