I guys.

long time without posting hehe..

im searching for a low voltage 5 inch screen... do you know if exists? hahahaha.. mabye a rasp pi screen with driver board?

bye bye :D

How low? Most of the ones that runs off 12v internally have a first step down to 5v and from that they get the needed voltages with some LDOs (most of the times 1.2v and 3.3v). You can easily bypass the first stage of regulation and power everything from 5v

low means low hahaha
sounds interesting... so, you can guide me to find the first stage regulation if i post a image of the driver board?

thanks

Yeah I might be able to do that. Just make sure to take it as clear as possible :D

If you follow that big trace on right of the top side, that should be 12V and it goes through a diode. After that I can't really see where it goes. Can you post a picture near that diode (take it right from the top so that I can see better)?

Im working right now and dont have the driver, but have another pics, maybe can be helpful

Aurelio is right. I figured this out a while ago for running the screen off 5v. The regulated voltage output is 4.2v on mine.

Just in case @Gman and @Aurelio didn't help you with your question.

Here is a link to a cheap 5" screen. It says you need 12v but if you open it up and run 5v to power bus, it works great!

Nice! Remove at least that inductor, you don't want to have an input voltage on the switching regulator output
