Hello there, my name is Jimenick!! :D

For my little invention, I will be trying to build a Wii remote as a Joy-Con (haven't come up with a better name yet). That means having a functional Wii control but in the shape and size of a Joy-Con, and hopefully, compatible with PC as well as your Switch console.

One of my main interests here was that I'm not very familiar with either accelerometers, gyroscopes, and also how infrared lights works on remotes, so hopefully I can get to fully understand and also learn more about them through this project.

My controller would feature some specific components I listed on the little drawing (see image below):
- Accelerometers or gyroscopes (there are two versions of wii remote, though the gyroscope seemed like the best one).
-Diamond-shaped buttons (this is a small detail, but as small as it is, I think it is a very cute detail to maintain the buttons with this shape).
-My own board (probably protoboard, but if I get the chance to buy my own PCB I will do it ).
-Speaker! (OH YEA, I missed a lot the random low-quality sounds of my controller when I started playing on switch TwT).
-Infrared light (or however they work, I plan to make something as similar as the cursor used for the wii.... maybe I can use two candles so I don't even have to do my own infrared lights to read...XD).
-Rumble motor ( pretty straight forward, maybe I use the wii control one or buy a new one)
-Leash. Or however the little leash on the wii remote is used for securing the controller to your wrist.

I think I got everything.. phew, that was a lot. So wish me good luck!! TwT

you should make a portable that allows for these remotes to be attachable/detachable

this imo is actually a really good idea! for the name, i’m ngl i can only thing of “Joy-Mote” or “Wii-Con” which admittedly aren’t great names lol, but im excited to see how this turns out, good luck!
