I am an amateur with electronics and soldering what are some other skills I need before I try the G-Boy

I am still unsure of whether to purchase it or not however I would like some guidance in what skills I would need. As well as that any reassurance on whether I should buy it or not would be appreciated.

You need to be confident in soldering with small components and precautions to avoid catastrophe with batteries (don't short anything, recognize shorts before you power on). You should have a multimeter and know how to measure voltage and resistance.
