CRT Micro - A Modernized Piece of Tube History
Analog Video & Audio System

I've always been fascinated with Cathode Ray Tube TVs (also known as CRTs). In old camcorders, since LCD screens weren't a viable technology at the time, manufactures would put small CRTs inside the viewfinder of the screen. A lot of these camcorders go bad over time, but the screens don't, so I wanted to give them a new home.
The CRT Micro has a breakout system I've called "Pass-through". It allows the user to take off the top of the unit and have access to female connector pins that lets them use a breakout board to do all sorts of things with it. My YouTube video on the CRT Micro showcases some really neat use-cases, and I'm thrilled to see where people go in the future with this.
I aim to reduce e-waste, and give old Tubes a new life with this project. You can connect HDMI to the back of the CRT Micro and have a clear image shown on the screen, or you can take off the screen and use a breakout board to output Composite, S-Video, and clear stereo audio to any device that supports analog video/audio input!
I've included my design for the breakout boards with the .gerber under CAD files in case anyone would want a starting point for possible breakout options. Again, I highly recommend watching my YouTube video or checking out my worklog for photos of assembly, progress updates, and more!
