Hi everyone,

So I just finished an Ashida build, but am experiencing strange audio issues. I use U Amp

Initially I had no audio, but later on it magically appeared.

Then it started dropping out intermittently every few seconds, but a lot more prominently when using the potentiometer, and the volume GUI icon would pop up on the top right of the screen every time this happened.

After a few minutes or seconds it would crackle, and after another short period again the crackle would turn into a loud hiss. occasionally it has rebooted by itself as well after all that.

This happens in headphones as well as speakers.

(To note this is much mich worse during cut scenes as there is also an additional video stutter this may be related or it may not, I bought another SD card to test that out)

Q

I have a similar issue, when I plug in headphones the system reboots/powers off. If anyone knows why or how the Uamp would reset the system, your advice would be appreciated.

Hi!

My system doesn't reset when I plug in the headphones so it sounds like a different issue.

I would recommend posting a new thread?

Can you provide clear photos of the U-AMP wiring and i2s audio vias wiring?

Looks good. The only thing I can think of is maybe there's poor connection between the flex and the mobo. Did you clear the soldermask off of the vias before soldering on the flex?

I did yes, and I prepped them with solder before soldering them to the flex.

Could it be the U-Amp itself?

Q

It could be the U-Amp or the Wii. I don't know a way to know for sure

I had the same issue and it’s fixed by making the bridges on J0, J1, J2 of the u-amp
