AlmostFrii - Raspberry Pi Pico-Based Wii NAND Dumper/Flasher

Neat! Nice work. Something similar does already exist (https://github.com/r00t1024/rpi-tsop48-nand) but it's always good to have alternatives. Your tool has better documentation as well.

Silent Fan for Gboy Rev 3

Like I said man, you need the updated firmware in order for it to work. Otherwise, it will only spin at speed 255.

Silent Fan for Gboy Rev 3

Hello! This has been a topic of debate recently because the Xii-Boy Ultra uses a 3010 fan as well. The problem with these 2-wire fans is that they aren't meant to be run on a PWM signal (what the PMS2 uses), and doing so can cause compatibility issues with some models of fans. There are four...

    Question Maybe Ashida bricked wii

So to clarify you: - Opened priiloader on an ashida that already had a working RVLoader install - Saw that error in the photo - Updated priiloader using the priiloader homebrew from https://oscwii.org/library/app/priiloader (or github) - And are now getting no video out? If I'm understanding...

    Hili's Xii Boy Ultra

Great job! Welcome to the XBU club! I love the shell color. Did you end up keeping the pogo pins in there? Interested to see how that turns out if so. Message Xenii or I if you need the updated bitstream to fix the DD’s coil whine. Aurelio is going to look into that fan issue soon.

    Xii-Boy Ultra REV 2

The issues came from both insufficient pressure (bumping the console can cause a disconnect) and the HASL board. Also, the pogo pins themselves were close together and difficult to solder perfectly flat.

Question Nintendo Switch Lite - Black Screen after Nintendo Logo

Very nice work! I'm glad you got it booting! One thing of note is that pink sticker by the charge port. That's a liquid damage indicator, and solid pink means it has been activated. Was it like that when you opened it up? If so, there may be corrosion beneath the NAND, and software won't be able...

Question Ashida, RVLoader, Homebrew volume control.

Wii-HUD (The volume controls for your RVL-AMP) currently do not support homebrew titles. Support will likely be added in the future. For now, set the volume in RVLoader and it will persist in-game.

    RVLoader v2.1

Hello! I can’t test currently, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Just Dance isn’t working. It’s one of those games that has almost no use on a portable. Maybe Aurelio can look into it one day. For now, make an issue on the GitHub so we can track it. https://github.com/Aurelio92/RVLoader As for...

    Release N64 Controller Module

Here’s the PICkit3 I bought. It works great. Like @cy mentioned, the knockoffs are nearly identical to the real ones. You can often find them for $15-$20 if you check AliExpress: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mM35SKV Note that the latest MPLAB X IDE has removed support for the PICKit3. You will...

    Worklog Xii-Boy Ultra - Bryce's Build [WORKLOG]

Thank you Cy! I 100% agree on the laminated display - it's incredible, especially when paired with the RVL-DD! Having everything wire-free seemed to eliminate interference related issues too, I think this is the way all new builds should be. And thank you for the tips on the connectors! It took...

    Worklog Xii-Boy Ultra - Bryce's Build [WORKLOG]

It’s been nearly two months since I began this build, and I’m happy to declare it as finished! Here’s the story behind my journey to get here: SECTION 1: BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE With the Wii, Xii-Strip, and PMS2 confirmed working, the next step was getting to work assembling the Xii-Boy’s...

Release Wii Revision Checker - Online Tool to Identify Your Console by Serial Number

Thank you Drew and Cy! I've tested 5 of my Wiis that weren't on the spreadsheet, and they all were spot on. USA/JPN should have near 100% accuracy, any region outside of those should get the 6 vs 4 layer guess correct, but the exact revision might be incorrect. My method of guessing will...

Release Wii Revision Checker - Online Tool to Identify Your Console by Serial Number

I’ll look into it! We don’t have nearly as much data on non USA or JPN Wiis, so that’s likely why. Can you please send the specific revision (e.g. RVL-CPU-40)

    Worklog Xii-Boy Ultra - Bryce's Build [WORKLOG]

Getting good joints over solder wick in short lengths like that is quite difficult. The wick starts to fray / deteriorate the longer you have heat on it. That is about as good as it gets. It does not affect the build, and is only cosmetic. Anyway, I need to update my worklog soon. Here’s a...

Question Nintendo Switch Lite - Black Screen after Nintendo Logo

Yeah, that's unfortunate. I figured it wouldn't boot, but always worth a try. You are welcome to research further, but based on my experience I would still say it's likely a NAND/Firmware issue. Mod the console with a picofly lite, and if it loads into the hekate menu, that confirms it. From...

Release Wii Revision Checker - Online Tool to Identify Your Console by Serial Number

Wii Revision Checker A problem I've come across often when sourcing Wii consoles is determining if they are suitable for portabilizing or not. There is a very helpful guide to identify these "4-Layer Wiis", however it requires removing the battery tray if the Wii has a white shell. The vast...

Question Nintendo Switch Lite - Black Screen after Nintendo Logo

Sounds like a corrupt NAND to me. Hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power when booting up and tell me if it gets to recovery mode. If not, you might have to install a Picofly modchip and rebuild the NAND in order to fix the console. I highly doubt it’s a bad battery, but it is technically possible.
