    Worklog DreamCast portable (WiFi)

Thanks! I got super lucky find at a thrift shop. A 7" screen with Audio amp and speakers all in one, but the down side is that it uses composite. But it's a great find for only $10 At first I was thinking of making the case look like a huge DreamCast controller. But I haven't done any 3D...

    BitBuilt 2.0 Theme

As a lurker who just likes to see the latest posts, I would like to suggest making the New Posts sidebar a bit wider so that you can read more of the titles. The Question and the Worklog stamps feel a bit big. It looks pretty slick. very white

I can confirm this. SD cards are the slowest while IDE is faster. I'm not sure if a faster drive or CF card will make much of a difference, I hope to test it a bit more someday.

    Worklog DreamCast portable (WiFi)

So a while back I decided to try building a portable DreamCast, but I wanted to do it differently from most portables. My idea's are to remove the disk drive and do the IDE mod with DreamShell so I can load games off an CF card. To make it feel more like a handheld game using cartridges, and a...

Lol I've been writing stuff up and taking some pictures to get ready for a thread. Ill probably take some more pictures and show off what I have so far. I'm also using a VA1. But I have seen others. It's great to see some interest in DC modding! This will be a huge help for when I work on the...

Just make sure you do the BIOS mod and IDE mod first (if your doing the ide mod anyways) you'll need the Disk drive to install the data on the new bios chip. The crystal on the drive doesn't seem to work by itself. Atleast I wasn't able to get it working. The one on the drive is different form...

Here's some good info on the IDE mod, they also talk about the BIOS mod as well. http://www.theisozone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=144&t=53352&p=364015#p364015 The BIOS mod is mostly needed to load into DreamShell to load games from. But it can also used to make your system region free...

I'm actually working on a DreamCast Portable myself. I'm not doing any trimming since theirs no info on it and I know nothing about that sort of thing. But here are some things that I have figured out Fan: The older models with the metal fan have to be installed or else you'll need something to...

Weirdest thing you've found inside a console?

OH! I remember now! The grossest console I've had to have worked on was an Xbox One that was covered in cat piss. Worst stuff to clean off, and pro tip: never burn cat piss, It's the worst smell ever. Plus side is I was able to get it working again, had to reflow the processor after trying to...

Weirdest thing you've found inside a console?

I work at a video game repair shop, so I've seen alot of strange things. Stuff shoved inside disk drives slots like money, fake money, paper, 5 disks at once, crackers. Gross things like cockroaches and super gross smokers dust. People have even completely smashed in newer consoles and expect us...

    New Nintendo 2DS XL revealed

I quite like the way this one looks. I never really cared for the original 2DS, but I think they did a great job with the case design.

    Worklog 1st Portable Worklog!

For the wii with no video, try replacing the Bluetooth board on it. sometimes they just die out and cause the system not to work anymore.

I do love my N3DS. I hacked my Hyrule edition N3dsXL and its nice being able to install whatever I want on there. (and no paying for those stupid themes)

People might hate the GameBoy Micro, but I love how tiny it is and how sleek it looks. Sometimes its nice to have a portable that fits in any pocket.

Question PSP go Pre project troubleshooting

How about with a battery? I'm not sure about the psp go, but I know some handhelds won't power on properly if there isn't a battery.

Mini USB Keyboard Faceplate (Dreamgear Minikey)

Yeah I got both of those. The Total control works great with PS2 keyboards, but with the adapter I cant seem to get it to work. Maybe I should try some different PS2 to usb adapters? I've been thinking it over for a bit and I think those keyboards would work the best for my project If I can get...
