Secret Santa 2022: Post your gifts here!

I've seen em around locally so I'm sure I'll find one. Because I wanted to put the box the nixies came in on display, I ended up putting those in a separate bag to keep em together and I forgot to include them in the image. Whoops!

Secret Santa 2022: Post your gifts here!

I'm so glad you're enjoying this stuff! Merry Christmas man! My secret santa for this year was @That_Random_Guy . And oh baby! Where do I even begin? A lot of this stuff was inside of some custom painted and 3d printed boxes for the occasion. The allen wrench to open said boxes was also...

Okay, what format are you using and which USB drive?

    Theme error

Okay, is this an untrimmed board? Also, are you attempting to use any themes? Do you have an SD plugged in at all? I know you are loading off USB but it doesn't hurt to be certain that the SD is out of the Wii. Also, what format are you using? And what USB/micro SD card are you loading off of?

    Theme error

Are you loading RVLoader with an SD card or via USB? This is a common error if you're attempting to load it via SD as RVLoader is made to only work on USB.

Starlight G-Wii (Now with HDMI out & USB GC controller passthrough!)

So I decided to build ANOTHER G-Wii. But this time things are different, I decided to challenge myself by attempting HDMI out and USB pass-through in an effort to restore the most of the Wii's home console functionality. This build is complete with MX, Bluetooth, and a few other nice features...

    Worklog Starlight G-Wii Worklog

After reading this and having time to sleep on it, I decided to open the unit back up to disconnect 5 volts from the HDMI board to see how much current it was drawing. It didn't make up the entire difference (normal G-Wiis draw around -2000 mA, give or take one to two hundred), but it made up a...

    Worklog Starlight G-Wii Worklog

Okay so, sorry for the double post, but I'm realizing this seems to be drawing a lot more current than it should be. It gets worse the lower the batteries get, but at a full charge it draws -2300 mAs and when it gets lower it starts to draw around -3000. Regardless of how charged it is, it...

    Worklog Starlight G-Wii Worklog

So it turns out, the HDMI board I bought is faulty. I don't know what exactly is wrong with it, but Shank suspects it is running the wrong firmware. Either way, I was able to get audio on the replacement board I ordered. I suppose that's what I get for ordering from Skent though, One of my...

    Worklog Starlight G-Wii Worklog

I'm overdue for another update and I actually need help this time, but we'll get to that. After nearly 3 months of waiting, the screen finally arrived! So I decided it was the appropriate time to print the front of the case. I had a few dumb technical difficulties with getting the scaling...

    Worklog Nemo's G-wii worklog

You can do what Crash said and that will work just fine. Sometimes I skip measuring resistances and just sand with 100, 500, and 1000 grit paper. I know I've sanded enough when the board feels smooth and good. It doesn't take a TON of sanding on each grit, but it is important that you do...

    Worklog Starlight G-Wii Worklog

Time for an update! I'm still working on the top half of the case, progress on that has been slow, but it is almost finished. Here's a shot of my HDMI mounting solution completed: For this project, I'm using the Electron Shepherd HDMI board. It has two screw holes which mount into a bracket...

    Question What do I need?

It looks like Crazy Gadget beat me to it, but I'll make my post regardless. The Ashida BOM has everything you need for the build listed with links. If any of those links are down, you can do a search for the part number and it should come up elsewhere. The STLs for 3d printing can be found at...

    Worklog Starlight G-Wii Worklog

Hello all, I recently found myself printing a G-Wii shell in a certain filament because I wanted to see how it would turn out. A while back, Noah built one like this during one of his streams using this filament and a thread showing a completed one made with this filament exists here. I always...

    Question Help

As MP3 said, one of the first things you should be doing when preparing a Wii for trimming is installing RVLoader. RVLoader is our replacement for homebrew apps like USB Loader GX and it helps to protect the console from being bricked upon temporarily removing features like Bluetooth and Wifi...

    Question Portable Wii crashes randomly

I've also had issues like this with Microcenter's micro SD cards when they're > 256. For me Mario Kart Wii's demo would slow down after a while, but it wouldn't crash. Playing it or other games would sometimes crash though. This was consistent across untrimmed and trimmed Wiis, and was only...

Mario Themes (OUTDATED DO NOT USE!)

Making themes is down to replacing the files in rvloader\themes\main. Ideally, you'll wanna create a copy of the main folder and start editing the files in there. In my most recent case, I created 2 variations of each theme to accommodate 16:9 and 4:3 screens with the only difference being the...

Zelda Themes For RVLoader (OUTDATED DO NOT USE!)

UPDATE! All the themes in this thread are now defunct and no longer function with RVLoader. I have left them up for preservation purposes, but I strongly suggest you switch to using the newer background system. If you want to use the backgrounds from this thread, this little guide I made can...

    Model Louii Twoii CAD Files

Thanks a lot for releasing these Ginger! I've modified the Front STL to accommodate OEM Switch directional buttons. It needs to be re-scaled due to my modeling software, syncing the scaling to the other model in Prusa Slicer should do the trick however. Credit for this goes 100% to Ginger since...
