It has been almost a year since my last post on this project. College required my full attention last fall and this spring/winter, so I got almost nothing done on the project during that time. Fortunately, I don't take summer classes, so my plan for this summer was to finish up this project...
Doom was a man who bought smiles to so many faces in the community with each and every post he made. I always knew when I saw a post or a response from Doom that it was going to be clever and I found myself laughing consistently at the jokes he cracked. I didn't personally know doom all too...
I didn't even realize this was in the works. Seeing builds that reduce the amount of manual wiring needed and increase the number of custom PCBs and flexes is sincerely exciting! It really is wonderful to see this stuff and know it's just that much less likely to break down. Excellent work!
Over the years there have been a number of songs made by the modding community about the modding community. I guess this thread can serve as a hub of sorts for these posts? I'll start with the 6 songs I AI generated about Y2K and the $60 SNES portable meme.
Enjoy!
Usually it sucks when a console gets bricked. In this case, it absolutely freaking rocks (no pun intended)! I absolutely LOVE seeing older projects like these get revived and finished. Your franken-case work is utterly beautiful and has very few imperfections. Seeing the gamecube controller...
So glad you like the shell! And thanks for showing it off! I'm sure you'll do just fine assembling it. If you need any help, or have any questions related to assembly, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm happy to help however I can! :D
Yeah, I was thinking about what @YveltalGriffin said about the ground missing ground plane. I tried creating a termination flex for the N64 jumper pak and had a similar failure. It wasn't until @CrazyGadget created his Akira flex that the community had a working jumper pak flex. The main...
It's hard to believe that a serious attempt is actually being made of this. Has there been any consideration of creating a flex for the RAM? I feel like this is the only way this might happen after seeing Yveltal's amazingly impressive attempt.
Yesterday I found myself skimming through this thread in search of a mounting bracket for the newer 640*480 IPS screen. I did a few CTRL + F searches since I didn't want to spend 30+ minutes reading and wasn't able to find much if anything related to this. So I designed one myself, it is based...

Hello and welcome!
From my experience sla doesn't require sanding, but you may want to sand for a bit of a smoother finish depending on how the print comes out. Just be aware that sla sands quickly, so be careful not to over do it. I had an Ashida case that was sla, and I ended up having to...
The 10k ohm resistors are either pull up or pull down resistors (I can't remember which), for the FRAM chip. The first batch of these that I ordered from JLC was missing one of these resistors, and the FRAM chip wouldn't keep save data after losing power. So these are important for that...
This year my secret santa was Ginger! And I can honestly say I wasn't expecting a wonderfully executed set of Cirno (the character in my profile picture) GameCube buttons complete with OEM feeling joysticks! Ginger was even kind enough to include a second Z button in case I wanted to use these...
Merry Christmas Nobble! I'm glad you're a fan of the custom box I printed for ya! I hope you enjoy the GBA games, I wasn't able to find a ton in terms of original Gameboy or Gameboy Color games so I hope you have a Gameboy Advance and are able to fully enjoy my gift!
I don't think Wesk has made a model like this. This means you'd need to take his work and extend it to keep the second usb slot. Realistically speaking that wouldn't be very difficult at all if you know your way around 3d modeling software.
