You've got a 6 layer board, which has a different trimming guide, and also isn't compatible with G-Boys. Take another look in the guide hub Wii section and there's a dedicated guide that discusses the differences between the boards and how to identify them properly.

Really liking the shoulder buttons on the side, I think that's the most comfortable placement for non-landscaoe portables. Excited to see how it comes together!

That's something you need to do before trimming, or just use a different Wii to back up your discs.

You shorted 3.3v and ground on the flex. That blue wire on the flex is covering two pins, one is 3.3v and the other is ground. You shouldn't need to use any wires to connect the flex properly.

Connect the screen controls lines to the volume control lines. It's a bit jank because cranking up the brightness also makes the volume really loud, but it works.

You can still use the U-Amp in a Louii. I just have the screen control up/down buttons double as the volume control buttons as well.

I don't think this is correct. The PMS doesn't default to sihpping mode when batteries are disconnected/reconnected. I'm pretty sure the issue here is just that he wasn't using a real button to turn the PMS on and off, grounding the button pad forever like he did isn't enough.

Some close ups of the soldering for the controller stuff would help. It sounds like iot could be that you're got multiple controller data lines solder together, but I can't say for sure

Do you have GC2Wiimote enabled? If you do, then you need to disable it fro Brawl if you're playing with a GameCube controller. The game acts really weird when it's trying to read the Gcc inputs and the emulated Wii remote inputs at the same time

BBLoader is not meant to be installed on the vWii, as it's specifically designed for portable Wiis.

That board should be just fine. The dremel slipped over a spot of the board without any traces, so all you did was scratch up a bit of soldermask.
