I'd recommend twisting each of your video signals with a magnet wire connected to ground. A drill works really well for this, the tighter it is the more protected your signal. Individual magnet wire stands if that length are going to pick up interference really easily.

Looks like you've got one is the Wii revisions with solder mask over most of the vias. Did you scratch the mask off before soldering to the via?

Not sure how much it'll help, but don't power the preamp and just grab L and R from before the preamp.

It sounds to me like Wifi is probably the issue, if you're getting a black screen consistently and things are heating up. I'd double check that all your connections to the wifi module/board are solid, try tugging on the wires a bit to see if anything pops loose easier than it should. I...

Can't quite see how you have video wired up, but do you have a ground connection between your screen and the Wii?

Judging by the battery being connected with magnet wire, and also everything else in that image I'm going to guess it doesn't work.
