Worklog [2023 Contest Entry] PSXpress - Cutting Edge PS1 Portable

Update time! Before we get into the progress updates, lemme outline some changes to the original preliminary features: 1. Motherboard Revision: PU-18 is great, however I've decided to go with PU-23 instead. There's one big reason for this: it is tiny. Sony decided to consolidate a lot of the...

    Question Identifying PSX Modchip

I suspect that this modchip might have been an early attempt at circumventing modchip detection schemes that some games started including at the time. It just screams over-engineered in that regard lol As for removal, you should be able to without issue, but it's possible that the laser may be...

Worklog [2023 Contest Entry] PSXpress - Cutting Edge PS1 Portable

Time to throw my hat in the ring! We've been making a ton of advancements in PS1 portablizing lately, and I'm hoping to make some further advancements to push the console further than it has before. Preliminary features are as follows: PU-18 revision trim Either a Yveltal/tzmwx style board...

Question Help with DS lite rubber conductive pads and continuity

I think its very much a case-by-case type of deal - plus HASL contacts will probably wear down quicker over time, so its probably not a bad idea to get them done in ENIG regardless. Thankfully OSHPark & DKRed offer free ENIG on 2 layer boards, so that could be an option. Carbon button contacts...

Question Help with DS lite rubber conductive pads and continuity

Yeaaah that could be your issue, not much to do other than reorder from my understanding, unless you got a way to gold plate PCBs at home? :XD:

Question Help with DS lite rubber conductive pads and continuity

Did you order your PCBs in ENIG plating? HASL isn't reliable for button contacts and can have issues.

    GBoy worklog ( Metroid themed)

The screen linked seems identical to the wisecoco listing, so this should be compatible. You'll just need to remove the capacitive touch layer from the screen or try to buy one without it.

Worklog GC Micro - Analog2HDMI Edition

Finally, a worklog, despite this being done for almost 2 months now lol Hello everyone! Despite me being in this community for a while now, I have yet to make a worklog or cutting edge post for any of my projects yet. That changes today! Since the build is already completed, this is to be...

    Question Gamecube Error list

I need a video of that if you do end up doing that! :XD: Maybe try throwing Picoboot in there and see if you get anywhere, can't hurt.

    Question Gamecube Error list

Worst case scenario would be to install Picoboot, as this will "bypass" the GC IPL either way and should get you around this error from my understanding. If you can't ever get the disc drive working again, this would at least let you use the thing until you decide to replace it!

    Guide RVLoader USB Compatibility Database

CrazyGadget and I have had good success with SanDisk's Ultra Fit drives - I haven't tried it with PD-2 personally but it should definitely work. The little keychain loop might need to be trimmed off to fit in some situations. EDIT: I almost forgot to mention - I *have* had issues getting these...
