Also, fun fact, WUT is also the name of the homebrew Wii U SDK, aka Wii U Toolchain :D
Incredibly great work man, I've been eagerly awaiting the completion of this trim! I'm astonished by the possibilities going forward, and can't wait to see what the community comes up with!
Afaik, no, but you might be able to use my PS1 PMS design if you tweak the resistor value for the 3v5 reg to have it output 3v3 instead! Alternatively, RVL-PMS Lite should work, but probably way overkill for an N64 build haha
Hey everyone!
Quick update for you all, as I'm not quite ready to put out a full update with the progress I've made yet, got a couple more things that I need to finish. I would like to announce though that I have made all design files for this build that I have completed so far open source...
Sorry for the lack of updates on this thread, but I got a lot of progress done to share with you all!
I will preface this by saying that I'm not super hopeful that I will be able to finish this in time for the contest. Parts of this project have taken way longer than I anticipated, and I still...
Analog2HDMI would be one way to go but it does draw roughly 1.5W on 5V - something to consider as that is definitely not a negligible amount of power, but it's less compared to something like Shinobi Scaler, so it's probably your best option.
Unfortunately, that 3.5in display driver doesn't...
Nice work! Actually might stick one of these into one of the SNES controllers I have lying around, since i find GC+ to be better suited for portables rather than controller projects. Thanks for this!
Raspberry Pi Pico is a inexpensive dev board for the $1 RP2040 microcontroller that has been used in a *ton* of different projects. It's extremely powerful for its cost and pretty easy to implement into projects. It's also open source, so you'll find a lot of alternative form factors &...
I've used 18650batterystore in the past personally and they're pretty good too, but I did buy 21700s from mabdelectronics and they definitely come highly recommended.
Dark theme for everything no matter what. Anyone caught using light theme willingly is to be considered a psychopath and a sociopath at the same time. :XD:
(Edit: This is a joke, to clarify, use whatever theme you want lol)
Totally! SCPH-50XX units are great for more than just consolizing! I've been doing a lot of work on PU-23 SCPH-90XX boards, which also have a lot of potential for a trim as well. Even if you don't end up making a portable, SCPH-50XX units can be modded with an X-Station and PS1Digital, which is...
Awesome, glad the game boots! Next step you should do is pull all boards out, clean them up, and recap them. Recapping the CRT driver board might fix the issues you're having, or if not, at least help narrow down the list of potential issues to troubleshoot. I believe you can find cap kits for...
Great find! I did see this as well but it seems oriented for generic arcade monitors but I suppose could be adapted for a RGB modded consumer tube with some effort. The 20EZ tubes are great tho and I'm sure can be made to work with some effort if it's not working already!
Important thing to note is that you'll likely want a specific arcade tube as well, which from my understanding is the Sanyo 20EZ/EZV 19" chassis. You might have a lot of difficulty getting a generic tube working if you can't find that. Did this cab not have a tube?
Oh we'll get that board repaired, I think the collective here will never let you put a Raspberry Pi in there :XD:
Great find though! I can't wait to see the progress you make on getting this restored! It actually already seems to be in pretty good condition, and I'm sure this cab has a lot of...
RVL-PSU is an all in one Wii voltage regulator board, meaning you don't have to spend time and effort wiring up and testing your PTH regs. It's also way more space efficient. For a Noldendo, PTHs are more than sufficient, but RVL-PSU is quite a bit easier to work with!
Nice work! You could probably clean up the wiring a bit by doing some work to remove the PSIO switchboard, as it's not needed if you don't intend on using the original disc drive. TZMWX has some docs on this on his Github, which you can find here.

Please note that this isn't a worklog of any kind and may not actually be a real project, rather him "just messing around" as he put it. Please don't reply to threads unless you have something of value to add. :D
