While I agree that single port charge and play is the most ideal way to setup the power system, most of us just use the dual port system

In my humble opinion battery space is ridiculously overpriced, perhaps you should select from this pool instead. Don't be concerned about delineating quality, PCBs really are that cheap to make these days https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m4084.l1313&_nkw=11.1v+pcb

Leaving aside that I have never found this to be the case, let's say you do set it to 4:3, you're still wasting a lot of space Also its not 16:9, its 5:3

Just be aware that that screen has a wide aspect ratio, so other than the handful of PS2 games that have widescreen support, most of your games will be stretched and distorted

Naw man that looks great, I only like the single chip version for cooling efficiency, but that is literally the only advantage to it, otherwise they are identical

The middle section is a cutout, for some reason the OSH Park HTML gerber viewer didn't make it black like the holes. Anyway it's a 4 layer board, so they'll make it for about 20 bucks BTW do you have a preference for the EE and GS version? Because if you want to make sure it has the combo chip...

Before I switched back to the 79000 series I was going to do exactly what you're planning. My design then as now uses a Samsung 250 GB SSD, that way it's lightning quick and extremely low power consumption. There will need to be an IDE to SATA bridge obviously, and for that you could go a...

    Ps2p Battery suggestions

I'm not entirely sure, but I know that the 7805 regulators drop out at 7 volts, so a 7.4 volt battery setup would only give you 30-40 minutes of play, especially on a USB loading portable

    Ps2p Battery suggestions

Lithium for sure, but you'll need to decide what style of cells to use, cylindrical or prismatic, then how many cells in series to create the needed voltage. Two cells will produce 7.4 (but will require the 6v mod), 3 will produce 11.1 (but will require a regulator), do you want links for...

Maybe if you were working with wood, but with board sanding its very easy to take too much off, plus the finer the grain the more tidy the copper layers will be and less likely to short

Worklog PS2IO - A new loading method based on old knowledge

So here's a quandary: In the original fat PS2 there existed two similar chips, the CXD2942, and the CXD9611. They were on the same PCMCIA bus (that's what it is actually), the former handled only audio, and the latter was designated an HDD controller. So that solves the mystery of the CXD2955...

Worklog PS2IO - A new loading method based on old knowledge

All I meant is that (and bare in mind this is my understanding) when a game is read from a DVD it doesn't quite come out the way it would if it was an ISO, so OPL has to then try to spoof the peculiar way that the CXD3098 would communicate the data to the CPU. I actually theorized about a...
