    Worklog N64SP take2

Haha thanks! The plan is to continue fine tuning this model until it is perfect! I'm just about ready to recase it with some more improvements after seeing the assembly. On the left side is a 3d printed hinge insert piece and on the right is a 3DS XL hinge. It's pretty easy to add in, just two...

What's your order number? There are a few PCB sets that can ship a handful of early September orders and then it will be October/November until the next batch start shipping.

    Power Issues.

PMS doesnt just stop working for no reason, it is pretty easy to short it while you are working on it if the battery is in. Or a wire touches something it shouldnt.

    Power Issues.

Ok there's not much to go off of other than that "it isnt working". The PMS is stripped down to bare minimum to turn on. There is VSYS voltage on PMS which tells me it isnt burned. You could measure resistance from each of the pms outputs (while battery is disconnected) to ground to see if...

Can you elaborate more on the condition that led up to this? Did you have it successfully powering wii and displaying video at once point?

I really like that woodfill case. The wrinkled blue looks pretty neat too. I cant tell if the texture was the paint shriveling up under the layers or done on purpose, either way it is cool looking.

    Power Issues.

I would recommend completely removing all the unnecessary wires (not just on one end). You need to restore the pms to most basic condition to test it. With wires hanging loose, flux residues, etc, it leaves doubt. Either the pms is broken or it is wiring. But that you get voltage on vsys tells...

    Power Issues.

Ok I suspect it could be wiring with the usbc board or something wrong with that board. You could remove the 5v, vsys, sda, scl, and chrg wires. Only keeping btn and ground to try and turn on the pms.

When you press the button, does the voltage on it go to around 0v?

    Power Issues.

Screen not turning on just means there is no video signal from the wii, probably doesnt have to do with the screen most likely. Could you provide pictures of your wiring?

Congrats! Looks great! I would reccommend putting some kapton tape on the batteries to prevent the tact switch legs on the front from scratching through the coating as you can see one of them is already a little ripped.

Would be cool to make another version with that built in. Though I actually take advantage of it pretty well by using 20700 cell and the jumper pak tucked in.

Another shortcoming of the first design were the shoulder buttons. They weren't very comfortable to wrap your fingers around the boxy case. I think this will be slightly better.

    Question n64 mini building questions

That's a pretty broad question, there is A LOT you need to know to do console modding. Best to start reading the guides here in the guidehub, also browsing project worklogs to get ideas.

Starting a new thread because this isnt an MGC thing :( Also lots of SP builds happening :rothink: I'm making a few changes all around to the design to hopefully improve it for a better prototype. The last one had a few shortcomings: 1. Using thin dome buttons on larger buttons (namely A and B)...

Question Can I replace analog game cube?

If its possible for you to buy a PIC and pickit3 programmer you can make your own gc+. Other alternative is using additional circuitry to calibrate the range and deadzones. For example using a microcontroller to measure the new joystick using ADC and then outputting new analog values using a DAC.
