I am not positive that screen will work with interlaced signal. The Wii VGA can do progressive, it is not the same signal as the PS2. Make sure the H/V wires are as short as you can make them. They should not be more than a few inches.

The VGA is interlaced signal which will only work on monitors that support this. Make sure of this.

if sparks were flying off the board something you wired couldve been shorted. Check to make sure there are no shorts. Most likely there could be a damaged component on the pms now.

PMS2 + PD1 will work. PMS1 + PD2 will not work. Wire vsys to PW. Wire 5v to 5v (not UP).

From the pictures you sent in the discord it looked like there was solder over many of the components. Can't diagnose it down to that one resistor, its possible there is other damage. Could you give some more context into what you were doing and how this happened.
