Question What exactly is the U10 chip?

Just tried this out on an untrimmed 6 layer RVL-CPU-30. Bad news, as YvenltalGriffin says it does not work as a straight swap out, the Wii does not boot. I confirmed my wiring is ok by removing the chip and replacing with the stock U10, and the console boots.

Worklog First Wii Trim - NES Classiic

Ok so I've completed the trimming part, and added the power wires to the motherboard. I'm going to add A/V lines next and try a test boot, wish me luck!

Worklog First Wii Trim - NES Classiic

Hey all, I'm working on my first Wii project. Rather than building a portable first time round, I've decided to make a cut-down Wii in a NES Classic case. The NES was my first console a very long time ago, so figured this would be a great start for nostalgia purposes! I'm working on this...

    Question Moving/de-soldering the MX chip

Hey all, I'm working on a "peripheral" breakout board design for my project (with headers for USB, Bluetooth, Gamecube controllers). I'm considering expanding this board design to incorporate the MX chip for a clean single board design, but mostly for fun. I've noticed in most builds that...

Question What exactly is the U10 chip?

Interesting, so it looks like a ROHM BD45332G (3.3v, 200ms delay, open drain) or ROHM BD46332G (3.3v, 200ms delay, CMOS) might be a drop-in replacement. I can't tell at a glance if the open drain or cmos model is the correct one here. In my case, I damaged U9 and U10 by being too clumsy with my...

Question What exactly is the U10 chip?

Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone has discovered exactly what the U9/U10 chip is. I'm trying to figure out if it is an off-the-shelf, commercially available component, or a custom chip that Nintendo or one of it's partners made? It looks to be a SSOP5 package (the same footprint as a transistor...

    BitBuilt Welcome Thread!

Hey all! I'm picking back up my old hobby of console modding, and this community seems awesome. First got started back in 2007 when I modified my Wii to move a wavebird receiver and memory card inside the Wii case. I was active on the MaxConsole forums, and even ran a (now dead) website called...
