    Worklog PS3 R&D Thread

Welp, it happened. A new Raspberry Pi Pico based modchip has been announced by aomsin2526, called BadWDSD. It exploits the XDR DRAM's serial debug interface to write arbitrary code into memory. This has opened the door to persistent CFW on PS3 Super Slims. This new fork of Cobra CFW is being...

    Flashfi.re – Yveltal's Web Store

Fujiflex and melonHD are now available on Flashfire! Fujiflex is an open source GCVideo DVI flex PCB for 4-layer Wiis. melonHD converts HDMI to USB-C DP Alt Mode. In other words, it lets advanced modders add USB-C video output to their builds. Both boards come fully assembled and...

Question Wii U turns on but no video output – forgot C194 capacitor

The console will boot to the home screen without the Wi-Fi module connected, but it will freeze when loading a game or entering the system settings menu. It's unclear what exactly you've done to the mobo-- did you install and then remove a caféflex? The flex does not hold up to repeated reworks...

Question Wii U turns on but no video output – forgot C194 capacitor

Hi! C194 is not required in any way. You're supposed to remove it when installing caféflex. Is this an untrimmed motherboard? If you can, please share clear photos of the motherboard and explain what all you've done so far, including your softmod setup.

    Question Battery Life Ashida

2.5V really is the industry standard cutoff voltage for cylindrical cells. A few cells have cutoff voltages of 2.7V or so, but they are outliers. The most common DW01 protection IC, used in virtually all eBay/AliExpress PCMs, has an overdischarge threshold of 2.4V - 2.5V. A threshold of...

    Question Battery Life Ashida

Hey, this isn't a direct answer to your question, but I hope it's helpful for you and anyone else trying to crunch the numbers on portable battery life. The key thing to know is that advertised 18650 and 21700 cell capacities are calculated based on a full discharge down to 2.5V. The PMS2 uses...

Worklog Wii U R&D Thread (WURD)

All of the scans and my pseudo-compendium are on my GDrive, linked in this post (and below). Nothing in there is as polished or complete as the Wii Compendium. Wii U Docs BitBuilt Mirror You're welcome to mirror them! Just know that the folder is 32GB and more stuff might be added down the line

    Flashfi.re – Yveltal's Web Store

Thanks man! Thundervolt 1 and Thundervolt Lite are identical in terms of features and performance. The only differences are the PCB layout and artwork. The pricing went up by $10 because this batch was assembled by JLC, and I had to pay tariffs on them.

Question The Wii-U GamePad no longer charges through the port at the top left. Specifications of some SMD components (fuses and capacitors)

The caps can be omitted. If you want to replace the fuse, any generic 0402 ~2A one should be OK. Or, if you're feeling lucky, you can jumper it with solder or a zero-ohm resistor.

    PS2 Ultra Slim

That PPS solution is really nifty, but keep in mind that 8.5V with ±10% tolerance is 7.65V - 9.35V. So there's no risk whatsoever in using 9V. The Anker 511 (Nano 3) has both a 9V/3A fixed PDO and a 3.3-11V/3A PPS PDO, so it's perfect for both approaches

    Worklog Kawaii

The Kawaii made its public debut at the 2025 Midwest Gaming Classic last weekend! It was connected to an HDMI monitor via my Retrotink 4K. Being able to pop it off the dock and hand it to people was really special. Many folks had seen it online, and were super excited to hold it in person...

    Worklog PS4 Slim Portable

Very cool build! 2 hours of runtime is impressive. I'm curious, where is the battery charger? I only see the PD controller, protection circuit, and balancer. Edit: nevermind, looks like the PD controller is an IP2368 charger module? Good choice

Release Fujiflex (GCVideo DVI flex PCB)

There's no built-in way to turn Fujiflex off. You can add a simple circuit to power gate it based on HDMI HPD. Something like this: HPD controls a small signal N-channel MOSFET to turn on a power P-channel MOSFET. You can short the 1.8V and 3.3V inputs and use a single PFET as shown, or use...

Discussion Investigating the Retroid Pocket Mini's Display

In response to the furor over this post, Retroid is offering all Pocket Mini owners a free replacement front panel with the full 1240x1080 screen exposed. This provides tacit confirmation of my findings, which is pretty neat.

Discussion Investigating the Retroid Pocket Mini's Display

A few months ago, some Retroid Pocket Mini users began reporting issues with the Mini's display. Apparently, when using high density CRT shaders, content was not reflecting the advertised 1280x960 resolution of the 3.7" AMOLED panel. Instead, people were seeing an effective vertical resolution...
