Question Plaing on building my first portable Wii

I was just making a general statement. I know the resistance changes depending on how much current each component uses. I was just saying that if the maximum output current of thr battery is 2 amps, there is no way to just make more current appear.

@Spencer Richardson used a battery like that in his first wii portable. Maybe he could give a couple tips.

Question Plaing on building my first portable Wii

Did you check the voltage of thr battery to see if it was ok? I couldnt find it on the page. Normally phone chargers output 5v. I think you would need more than that. We use batteries listed in the BOM in the general discussion page. They are very good and will probably last longer than that...

What protection circuit would you guys recommend for 4 18650s wired in series for 14.8v? The battery holder with integrated protection circuit won't work for this project.

But if the lights are blue, that is closer to ultraviolet light not infared. So it will not work.

Ok. I am just going to put in infared lights to act as a sensor bar. I was just wondering if i could save money and see if these would suit that purpose.

Do they output infared? I know this is a weird question, but i was thinking about using them as a sensor bar

    Portable dvd player 9"screen

Do you want to use the 9 inch screen for your portable? I am not saying that is bad, but that would make a huge portable console. As long as you know what you want, thats great. That battery pack that you have. Normally, plasticwrap around the batteries is the sign of a cheaply made battery...

    BitBuilt and Advertisements

I like the idea of ads, as long as they are not overbearing. Ads on the top and bottom are fine, but pop ups just make people frustrated and want to leave the site. We want to make this site better, and I thinks ads are a great way to do that.

This is what I am using. The protection circuit is already integrated into the bottom part where the wires are coming out. How would I wire a charger to this? Should I post a picture of the exposed protection circuit to help? And @GC64 what PCB are you talking about?

I have two wires coming out of my batteries. One is positive. One is ground. I know I have to put positive and ground into my wii. Where does the charger fit in the circuit?

Ok thanks. I will be sure to order a 14.8v smart charger. But how do I wire it to my batteries? Do I just connect the positives and grounds to each other? Does it matter the amperage of the charger? I know higher amps mean less charging time. But could i hurt the batteries with a higher amp...

I do have a protection circuit. I have 4 18650 cells in series with each other. They are in a case like the one in the ebay link, but it just connects the batteries and integrates a protection circuit. It does not charge them. The smart charger in the BOM is for 7.4v not 14.8v. Does that make a...

I hate to even ask this question because there will be a bunch of stupod comments, but here goes. I got my batteries from Japan, but they are not charged. How would I charge them and how do I know when they are done?

Thanks @Stitches . But i actually just used old fashioned brute force and a screwdriver. It worked out well and i made sure there were no shorts and stuff. But i was looking at the audio and video points on the wii board and saw something i didnt understand. Why are there spots for 5v and 12v...
