I got this name for my birthday so I kept it.

I've got a great spot right in front of the circuit breakers. It's purely a workstation with no computers or anything, just a TV for testing stuff. This is the cleanest it's been in months.

If you can't see it on another screen, then your screen must be the issue. There might be some passive component on the board where the video input is (a capacitor or resistor) that has gone bad or gotten disconnected. It may help if you take a picture of the components on the screen's circuit...

Can you take a picture of it? It's not clear what the bars look like.

Have you tried connecting the video output to a different screen or TV? It sounds like an issue that could be originating from the AV encoder on the motherboard.

I believe those screens don't have any sort of decoder to use digital HDMI or analog composite/RGB. Even if they do, they probably don't have a scaler because the Pi can produce the exact resolution you want, while a game console can't.

Datasheets for the screen aren't publicly available so it's not clear what kind of interface the screen uses. It may be similar to other generic LCDs on the market, but regardless, you'd need a custom driver like Shank said.

I'm excited to see what comes of the new console and new branding without "Wii" in it. That alone should draw people in. I'm also happy that GameCube emulation might be a reality, but I'm going to be concerned if it does Wii emulation too...

I'm kind of severely short on Wiis. I'd like to take it.

This cable is supposed to have a chip that converts from Wii component video to VGA. I once received a cable that didn't have a chip in it, so it may not be reliable. The chip itself has been reviewed by Ashen and is pretty good, though I think there are different versions of it. Someone else...

I have never seen something like this and I love it! It's such a neat idea to have a monitor and game console combo, not to mention it looks really well-crafted too.

I remember seeing this a while ago and I always loved the curviness of it. The case is really pretty.

How does it interface with your audio amp? Is it planned to work with any audio amp in the future?

It doesn't seem to be that simple with the bottom displays. I've never seen a bottom IPS screen, but I've looked at pictures on eBay. Most of them have three codes on the back that seem random and not related to the size of the screen. Here's one.

I have seen 2 IPS screens so far. These stickers were on the backs of the screens. They have in common the "LAM049M003AX" ID at the top, although the last digit varies. I believe this one is likely an IPS display. Screen 1: Screen 2: This is the back of my TN screen, and it has no sticker...
