You said it yourself, the integrity of your HDMI connection was compromised from the start. So why do you expect the community to be able to isolate the part of your driver board that is causing HDMI input to fail? As SS said, you basically found the issue yourself. Get a new driver board kid ;)...

This design is wonderful!

You might want to move the speaker holes. When you hold the portable part of your palm will cover them if they are in that position. Moving them closers in would be your best bet.

Do you have a solution for IR yet? Also what if the game requires the Wiimote to be in the right side of orientation? How would you adjust the standard position of the accelerometer?

The braid is tough, if the pins are stuffed up then don't put the connectors back on. You can just solder on ground and composite video (look for a PSOne video pin out). Hopefully your power port can be soldered back on.

A manual test is the best thing to do. It would be too hard to check the continuity from a picture.
