    Worklog The littleBIG Boy

I haven’t been following this thread like I should be. Love how well this is coming together! Your prints (minus the issues you ran into) look incredible, esp in that clear blue. Loving the screen size on this thin boy!

    PS2Pocket

Great work - it looks amazing! The header pins (as shown in your worklog) to connect the two halves is a great way to cut down on spaghetti wiring. Looks good inside and out!

    Worklog IBP's SNES Portable

I know it sounds like it would be throwing a lot of work away, but with a 3D printer at your disposal I’d recommend starting from scratch and do your whole case 3D printed. If the scale isn’t correct with your SNES buttons... print new buttons, which should match the scale of your printed case...

Are you still looking for a replacement golden tee? Just found one but haven’t picked it up. I know you wanted to get under $20, but shipping might kill that.

    Worklog IBP's SNES Portable

I see that golden tee game at thrift stores from time to time and think of this portable EVERY TIME. Your button mounting solution should work pretty well. I believe that was Downing’s technique pre-3D printing.

    BitBuilt Welcome Thread!

I think the lesson here is don’t let fibbef moderate your forums if you don’t want them to go under.

    Worklog The Gearshift (Completed)

Great work and SUPER smooth frankencasing! If a big company does start making something like this like MRKane suggests, I feel bad for all the haters you (and Downing) are gonna get calling you guys the knockoffs. Don’t worry, I won’t forget who the real heroes are.

    Worklog Miceeno's N64 Portable

Great work! I love non-traditional stuff like this! I would think it should be fairly rugged too. Let’s not forget about a modder named Boxroller. (At least that’s what I remember him going by when he posted his portable to the bacman forums.)

    Worklog NES 2 C U - 2018 Summer Contest Entry

Making slow progress on the various layers. The audio amp slowed me down because I had to position it on the edge of one of the sheets. Long story short, that screwed up some stuff so I had to redo at least one layer. I think I might be back on track now. Been working through the layers...

As promised, here is my case-work update. But first: Maybe it's a bit subtle, but I'm a little disappointed nobody picked up on this foreshadowing. Even more disappointed that nobody bothered guessing where this project was headed, not that I don't blame you. The novelty is this portable is...

    Question Dremel bits

I’m sure those will work great. I typically use Dremel 420 (ayyyy) heavy duty cut-off wheels. I used to use the Dremel 409 wheels that came with the tool, but I’d usually use up 2 or 3 of those on the simplest of jobs. On the other hand, I completed an N64 trim on a single 420. Those diamond...

Now I know why you all have switched to wii portables: So you don’t have to desolder these pains in the butt ever again. Wouldn’t have been bad except my radio shack desoldering iron stopped heating up and there are no more shacks around to get a replacement. I tried desolder braid but that...

    Guide Body Filler Tutorial

Yep, I actually get my acetone from the paint section of my hardware store. This is the stuff I get. $7 isn’t too bad and lasts through a few batches.
