    Worklog Some PS2 Project

A simple thermistor should do - some multimeters can read thermistor values and report back temperature, but if you don't have one of those I'm sure they make dedicated devices for that purpose (or just pick up a cheap multimeter that does support that lol)

    Looking to buy a PMS-PD 2 (willing to pay $40 + shipping)

You're better off waiting for a restock on 4Layer. Restocks happen often so you shouldn't have to wait too long, and you'll save yourself a good bit of money. If you want to be notified when a restock happens, you can always join their discord server and you'll be the first to know when...

    MGC 2023

Also my first MGC, as well as my first convention, and let me tell you, it was an absolute joy! There was so many cool stuff to check out there, and it was amazing to meet everyone in person! We'll start with the car ride over, which went pretty quickly once @cy already spent the 5 hours it...

    Current Charge and Play Circuits?

There really isn't any currently widely used solution that is equipped to handle the PS3's power demands. PS3s are very power hungry, and every part of your power chain needs to be able to handle the load it draws and then some in order to ensure a safe design. I would highly suggest not rolling...

    Alterative to the PMS-PD 2

PMS-PD is unfortunately not open source, but its a pretty simple design that can even be improved on if you wanted to get into all of that. Yveltal recently brought the husb238 to my attention which seems even more capable than the IP2721 negotiation IC that PMS-PD uses! A G-boy PD board might...

    Worklog N64HH - N64 Portable

I actually really love the new design, it looks extremely sleek, kinda like an N64 G-Wii but more curvy hahaha. Ik you're pretty far into this design, but one thing you can do to improve the overall thickness is put the batteries behind the controllers and shape the grip to fit them, kinda like...

    Project plus on RVloader

From my understanding PM worked fine on PortablizeMii when using Brawlbuilder, so I find it a bit weird that they aren't working on RVLoader. Did you try your modded disc image on another wii or in Dolphin to confirm it actually works? I would also make sure that you're outputting to WBFS...

    [FS] Shinobi Scaler

One with old firmware would be appreciated, although I do have some chips already pre-pulled from a GBS if that helps ya at all. Mentioned it to you before, I'll be sure to bring them to MGC :D

    Solved RVL-PMS Lite vs. RVL-PMS-2

Also important to note that PMS2 has better battery level monitoring than PMS-Lite. PMS-Lite only monitors battery voltage, while PMS2 has a proper fuel gauge built in. For a build that keeps the 1v8 LDO on board, PMS2 will work but is probably a little overkill.

    RVL-PMS-2

No. You'll either need to somehow acquire a PMS2 or use a separate 1v8 regulator like a PTH

Worklog Possible and replacement for Wii u not for beginners

I've heard of this idea before, would be interesting to see implemented. I do have a Wii U so probably means I should make a NAND backup juuuuust in case it decides to die on me one day. Thanks for the heads up!

Retro Lite CM4 Shadowbox (Art Piece)

It's not completed yet, you're missing the SD card!!! Jokes aside, fantastic work! Definitely would love to do something like this but for Nintendo consoles, would make fantastic wall art haha

Nice work! Would love to see a 3D printed redesign, as I do like the overall shape of it. But of course the homemade vibe is always a welcome one! :D

    Question The G4 GameCube project

One option could be to first back up your existing NAND image & NAND keys and then use ohneschwanzenegger to create a new NTSC-U nand image. From my understanding NTSC-J & NTSC-U Wiis are identical minus software changes. This might be an easier approach than trying to convert your existing nand...

    Worklog Some PS2 Project

Should rename this thread from "Some PS2 Project" to "*THE* PS2 Project", as that's currently the state of things! Incredible work, can't wait to see what comes of this. Next thing to look at would be to see how doable mounting the EE on the other side of the board would be. That would...

    Ashida Wii Portable

The color is Pantone 7673C, so if you can find a paint online that has that color, great, if not, a local paint shop can mix the color for you usually. If you do end up going with the paint route, make sure to use 2K clear coat after, or else the paint will get very quickly destroyed by your...

    Question Wii power

Ideally you want to use either RVL-PMS-Lite or RVL-PSU, as these are much more efficient designs than hand wired PTH regs or other solutions. RVL-PMS-Lite can be purchased from 4Layer Technologies (comprised of Gman, Shank, and Aurelio). RVL-PSU is open source design, and the parts for that can...
